In 6th grade, I did a project on Buster Keaton.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
I think it means focusing on a topic and doing everything you can to learn all about that topic.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
It's really frustrating when you can't find information about your topic and no matter how long you search you end up with nothing. This has happened to me a few times. Teacher Response March 15

The inspiration program was really great to organize my thoughts and it helped show me that i knew a lot more about my topic than i thought, yet there's more room to learn.
Why I Chose This Topic & What I Know About My Topic:
I chose to learn more about cave art and the artifacts found in caves (especially at the Caves in Lascaux). I learned about the tools they used, things they would paint and sculpt, and what that painted areas were usually for. I have so much more to learn but that's the best i could do during class (my computer took 15 minutes to load everything)

How did they make their drawings?

Does the art have any religious meanings?
When did the painting occur?
What types of sculptures did these people sculpt?
What materials did they use or prefer (bone, wood, stone?)?
What were their instruments used for making the art?

Reflections on Pre-Notetaking
Taking notes in class and making up questions about my fat and skinny questions came really easy for me. Once i got one question, the others came really easy and before i knew it i had about 15 questions. Some were irrelivant, so i had to delete them but i thought i came up with some great questions. My researching went really well today. I found a great site! It has everything i could possibly need on ancient art. I discovered it at the end of class so I didn't get many questions answered but i could see all the answers right in front of me. it was great! i also think i found a good book for my topic, but i never got the chance to look at it. Today was once again very good with answering my questions. So far i have all my skinny questions answered, so now I need to incorporated those answers to figure out my fat question, "How did prehistoric man use art to communicate?"
